Forest Rose Campground
OPEN MAY 15 – OCTOBER 1, 2025
This forested campground offers a sunny creek-side setting for campers of all kinds, with more trees and privacy on the north end in the first come, first served section, and sunnier pull-through sites on the south end in the reservable section.
Forest Rose Campground has 56 campsites, 26 of which can be booked in advance. It features a playground, and a washroom building with flush toilets, potable water, and coin-operated showers. Bear-proof garbage and recycling bins are offered in central locations throughout the campground.
All campsites are equipped with a wheelchair-accessible picnic table and campfire ring. Campsites are an average of 55 feet long and 13 feet wide and can accommodate most trailers and RVs.
Forest Rose Campground is located off of the Bowron Lake Road, along the east side of Williams Creek and a stone’s throw from the Barkerville Highway. It’s 2 km north of the Barkerville Welcome Centre. Guests can travel back and forth from the Historic Zone to Forest Rose via the highway, or cross the highway on foot to access a well-groomed walking path. Forest Rose Campground is part of the 1,100 hectare property that forms Barkerville Historic Town & Park and is managed by Barkerville Heritage Trust.
LOWHEE CAMPGROUND
OPEN JUNE 19 – OCTOBER 1, 2025
This well-treed campground offers a private and peaceful setting for campers of all kinds, with a deep forest on the south end in the first-come, first-served section, transitioning to a wetland on the north end in the reservable section.
Lowhee Campground has 80 campsites, 47 of which can be booked in advance. It features a playground, three washroom buildings with flush toilets and potable water, as well as a coin-operated shower house. Bear-proof garbage and recycling bins are offered in central locations throughout the campground.
All campsites are equipped with a wheelchair-accessible picnic table and campfire ring. Campsites are an average of 50 feet long and 14 feet wide and can accommodate most trailers and RVs when backed into the sites. Pull-through sites are available in the Forest Rose Campground.
Lowhee Campground is located along the west side of the Barkerville Highway, 2 km north of the Barkerville Welcome Centre. Guests can travel back and forth from the Historic Zone to Lowhee along the highway, or via a well-groomed walking path alongside the highway. Lowhee Campground is part of the 1,100-hectare property that forms Barkerville Historic Town & Park and is managed by Barkerville Heritage Trust.
