Barkerville's many displays, stores and interpretive buildings provide visitors with plenty to do. However, the park also offers a number of more active opportunities to explore the town and its unique history. From town tours, to the famous water wheel show, to the Theatre Royal's more formal gold rush era entertainment, Barkerville provides a number of opportunities for visitors to watch (and sometimes participate) while learning about gold rush history in Barkerville and beyond.

In addition to the park's Daily Activities, a number of Special Events take place throughout the year that provide visitors with even more opportunities to experience BC history in a hands-on fashion.
